This isn’t a straightforward question to answer, let me explain.

The laser printing process gives a semi gloss finish where toner is applied.

Matt White, Semi Gloss or Gloss label which is printed across the whole area – as example below –  will end up with a semi gloss finish.  Any difference which does occur will be slight and in my opinion not worth the extra money you would have spent on the more expensive labels.

All over printing gives a semi gloss finish

All over printing gives a semi gloss finish no matter what stationery stock.

Where most of the label is not overprinted then the label finish will ‘show through’.  See example below.

Printed on gloss label the gloss finish will show through the white areas.

Printed on a gloss or semi-gloss label the gloss or semi gloss finish will show through the white areas.

Hope this helps you decide what stationery to choose.  But you can always ask for advice by contacting me.
